My introduction to the world of health and fitness began at a very young age. I decided at 9 years old that eating animals was no longer an option for me. My family fully supported my decision, and my plant-based lifestyle began! I’ve been a vegan ever since, and I’m proud of my decision. At the age of fourteen, my father taught me how to lift weights at our local gym. However, I struggled with my weight during my later teenage years due to improper nutritional experience and knowledge. After losing approximately 75 pounds on Weight Watchers, I confidently began to test my own limits. Inspired by my parents and sister, I took up running and weight training as a hobby.
Through the example my parents set through long distance and recreational running, I became motivated to become extraordinary in everything I do. I crossed the finish line with my sister at the Orange Classic 10K, my first running event. After that, I challenged myself with two triathlons, the Tinsel Town Tri (Hemet, California) and the New York Triathlon. While training for the Orange Classic I also attended my first Spinning class. Little did I know, I’d end up falling in love with Spinning and becoming a certified instructor just a few short months later.
In addition, teaching Pilates Fusion, Aqua Aerobics and Kids Cardio at the local YMCA provided me with multiple opportunities to impact and make a difference in the lives of others. Since then, I have cycled multiple “Century Rides” (over 100 miles each) and participated in a variety of races. As a plant-based athlete it became very difficult to find proper balance in my diet. I have struggled trying to find a plant-based protein that not only tastes great and powers me through intense weight training but enables me to go the distance. Ground Based Nutrition’s Superfood Protein Smoothie not only empowers me to go farther it tastes amazing. In the future, I’d like to educate the world about the benefits of plant-based nutrition and continue my study of sports nutrition while obtaining as many certifications as possible.
Four weeks prior to my 1st NPC figure competition I had some major health setbacks due to improper nutrition. My new coaches, IFBB PRO Victoria Adelus and Josh Field and their team: Team ABC Fitness (Team Always Bringing Competition), put me on a clean, high quality, nutrient rich diet. They introduced me to Ground Based Nutrition and added in GBN’s Superfood Protein Smoothie as a meal. Within the first day of taking Superfood Protein, my energy levels started to come back!!! I grew stronger and healthier everyday advancing to placing 3rd in my very first show!
It is my mission to pay it forward and inspire people to make a positive change in their life. I want people to know they can accomplish anything with the right mindset. I am living proof. I want to show that with a purposeful nutrition and training plan, the human body can and will change. I also recognize the role the mind plays in overall health. Teaching people how to conquer their mind and obtain a healthy balance overall is a passion of mine. I know an abundance about health and nutrition and love to share my knowledge with others. I’m excited to be affiliated with Ground-Based Nutrition, and I’m looking forward to achieving even more athletic endeavors in my pursuit as a figure athlete and fitness model.
